Crown Jewels 2023 Was Something Else
Summary:
Crown Jewels was something to see.
Crown Jewel was this past Saturday, and it wasn't that bad of PPV. The event had some hits like Kairi Sane and her return. Roman did end up retaining the title. Solo hits a bunch of spikes and John Cena might be on one of last match after losing to Solo.
I didn't catch it on the preshow because I didn't tune in until the opening match, but I went back and watched it. The match was between Sami Zayn and JD Mcdonagh wasn't that bad of a match. I thought they went back and forth but, in the end, Sami Zayn ended up hitting the exploder suplex and the blue thunder bomb. Then got the win. But just like from the beginning of the match the crowd was really into Sami so definitely a good start for the crowd for Sami to get the win. I did think JD who I predicted that JD would win but I have no problem and definitely great for the crowd to see Sami get the win.
The first match to start the show was between Seth Rollins and Drew Mcintrye. I'm not calling freakin and find it dumb. But the match went back and forth, at times with the story to the match, it seemed Drew had a chance to win. But after hitting a few curb stomps, Seth got the victory. He w

The first match to start the show was between Seth Rollins and Drew Mcintrye. I'm not calling freakin and find it dumb. But the match went back and forth, at times with the story to the match, it seemed Drew had a chance to win. But after hitting a few curb stomps, Seth got the victory. He was a little beat up so then Damien came out which looked like a cash in. But Sami stopped it. Then the next segment is Drew and Rhea. I think maybe Jd joins and maybe drew goes if you can't beat them, join them. So, he might when the group kicks out Damien after he wins the world heavyweight title.
The next match was a 5 way between Rhea Ripley Vs Nia Jaks Vs Shayna Baszler, Zoey Starks VS Raquel Rodiguez. The match was good, and Nia did okay but I didn't see a whole lot from her in the match. I didn't get why wwe brought back Nia. But Zoey leg definitely looked like an injury and found it very strong of her to fight out the pain and wrestle in the match. But Rhea looks like a star from the start, and her reign as champion has been okay for what it is. She definitely stands out and puts on good matches. But the rip tide on the top rope was impressive, and getting the win was great. Rhea definitely has become a star. I think she will continue to be champion for a while.
The next match is Solo Sikola vs John Cena. The match was good for what it was. But I think the Samoan spike move was used like 70 times, which was like wow he let solo go over and use that move as many times as solo did. It was great to see Cena put over Solo because that will help Solo look like a start as he slowly goes on singles run. The question is why did Cena win? Well, it helped solo, and the same ones complaining are the same ones who used to when Cena won all the time. I did enjoy the Tazz reference on Smackdown, but the buildup hooked me into wanting to see this match and I thought it was fine to me, that Cena lost. Is this Cena last match? No, I can see in his eyes that his career is winding down. But I think he will have a few more matches and maybe a year or two left at best. But his career is slowly coming to end. I think it would be fine if maybe Cena does win at his match.
The next match is Rey Mysterio Vs Logan Paul. Rey Mysterio held his own to face Logan Paul. But logan got the win in the end. He had someone come out to help which led to Santos coming out. The brass knuckle ends up on the side of the ring. Rey went for the 619, and Logan got hit, then after that got the brass knuckle was used on Rey. I think Rey title run didn't mean a lot. Also, that Logan can take the title and put it on his podcast, or his boxing matches. So, I think it fine that logan won. I just hope we see him before WrestleMania, and this leads to more matches by Logan. I know people will hate this, but I find him entertaining.
This match led to Kairi Sane returning to wwe. This match was between Iyo Sky and Beonica Belair. I think Biancia was a little rusty and the injuries showed but she just came back and give it time. I thought this was a great match even though Iyo usually puts on great matches. The match led to Biancia looked like she had a shot at winning the Smackdown women's title, but Bayley came out, then Dakota. Bianica tried to fight both off, then Kairi made her return. Bayley distracted the referee; Kairi attacked Biancia and threw her back in the ring. As Biancia was down, Iyo hit the moonsault. Then got the win. This led to a lot of questions. Is Kairi in damage control? Because she was last seen getting attacked by Bayley. So, could this lead Kairi and Iyo VS Bayley and Dakota? I think time will tell. But it was great to see Iyo get the win and retain the smackdown women's title.
Cody Rhodes vs Damien Priest was a good match for what it was even though the match has been done death. I just hope this ends at Survivor series as in Cody and Jey team vs Judgement Day. But the match did have the rest of Judgement Day come down during the match, but Jey came out and hit super kicks. I think that its fine that Cody won by hitting multiple crossroads. But i originally thought that Damien would win and then move on to him cashing in. Also, Cody goes after Roman starting early next year.
I know i didn't cover it on YouTube, but I thought the Miz Tv Segment was stupid for what it was. I just wish wwe would give the Miz better creative and am interested in seeing how he does against Gunther in the future.
Well Roman Retains like I knew would happen
The match between Roman Reigns and LA Knight, yeah, was good match for it was. The match led to a moment where LA Knight had Roman beat but like I knew would happen the bloodline got involved and Knight tried to fight the bloodline off, but Roman like usually end up hitting the superman punch and getting the win. I think it was great how far LA Knight has come in a year. I have no problem with Roman winning, but this is starting to become predictable. I think this isn't the last time we see those two in the ring, and maybe another match wouldn't be a bad idea between these two because the bloodline got involved in the match. I think Roman title reign was great as first and he does put butts in seats. He also bought some fans back in. But Roman keeping the title is starting to get old. I know they are comparing him to Hogan or even Bruno second title reign. They forgot Backlund but I think Roman needs to lose the title, which might be best to Cody to finish the story at WrestleMania 40. I'm not in wwe or working with them, so Roman could keep the title for a couple more years. I just don't know about that idea because the audience doesn't care for long title reigns.
Crown jewel over all wasn't that bad of a PPV. I thought the Seth VS Drew match was the match of the night. I thought it was great to see Kairi Sane return and am interested in seeing how she is used either for or against damage control over time. I think LA Knight might be going after the US title by mania and will still be a huge deal with audience going into the future. Well thank you for reading!
