Summary:
I started taking money orders in 2021. I did have one buyer named Jeannie and she was always great to do business with. She bought tons of Elvis stuff, vinyl and other stuff. I still let her do money orders, but I stopped taking them from other buyers. I never have taking cashier checks or money orders from local buyers. Just cash, and sometimes I do cash app or PayPal. The reason why I don't take money orders, I will explain. This buyer started through Facebook marketplace. I had a buyer that bought some stuff like CDs and at first it was a great experience. So, I said I will take requests because he didn't have a cd shop near him after a conservation online. He said he would pay around the first week of the month. It worked out for a few months. I would buy CDs at a price and sell them to him online and ship them to him with bubble wrap. But then he kept asking for requests and didn't pay for them at the beginning of the month, one month. I kept asking for a couple weeks. He kept saying I'm working on it, then kept asking me to find some stuff. I gave him some time, bought a tiny bit more stuff and He didn't pay me after about a month, and I had like 10 CDs that I had to figure

The issues with money orders.
I gave him some time, bought a tiny bit more stuff and He didn't pay me after about a month, and I had like 10 CDs that I had to figure out how to sell to other buyers. I decided to move on and stop doing this business with. I moved on and decided to only do money orders with Jeannie because she became a friend. After a year and a half, I only have one cd left of the ones I bought for him, to sell to him. Since then, in 2023, I only take credit cards or PayPal online. As in if you want to buy an item. You can buy it on here if its available for sale. I don't take money orders because of the experience I had. Also, I have no control over how the buyer decides to act as time goes on with money orders and would rather not deal with that again. But feel free to ask questions and check out my shop on here.
Any other issues?
Like you read above, I don't accept money orders. I had one try to do it again as in pay with money order in like the tail end of 2021, told me that they would pay in a week then the excuses begin, a what if on when the person would pay, and I like No I don't take money orders. Either pay by card or PayPal. Definitely when the person was already playing that I have to see when I can pay. The items were some Nascar stuff.
What Payments do I take?
I do local sales by pick up and I take cash, cash-app or PayPal. Online I don't take money orders, but I do accept PayPal, or credit card. The paypal come through and I get the money after the 3% and the credit card goes to Stripe. I do have the stripe app, but it can take a week to get the money to send your bank, and you can't create shipping labels with stripe. So, with stripe, the quicker you ship, the quicker you get paid. With PayPal, I get it within a few seconds and can create labels, so I use PayPal for any credit card order.
